what is ubiquitous computing?
The word ubiqiutous means everywhere, so ubiquitous computing means computers everywhere. Even tumble dryers, microwaves, washing machines and ovens are computers! These are all things we use in everyday life and without even knowing it, ubiqiutous computing comes into mind.

Everywhere you go you will find examples of ubiqioutous computing. At a shop you will find tills, at a museum you will find CCTV (closed circuit television), at a cinema you will find a television. All of these are computers, even though it might not seem like it. Other examples of ubiquitious computing are phones, hair dryers, showers, sinks, dish wahsers, television, cameras, fridges, feezers, laptops, i think you get the idea! Neaarly everything in your home that is electric is a member of teh ubiquitious computing family!
